Luke and I did a little "Island Hopping" recently. We took this 10 passenger plane, on a 20 minute flight to the beautiful island of Anguilla. You would not believe how flat Anguilla is! I mean, it is literally as flat as a pancake. But I have to say, it also has the most beautiful turquoise water & white sand, that I have ever seen! We just relaxed on the beach during the day, and had a delicious dinner at the highly recommended restaurant "Blanchard's" that night. (You can see below, that we sat right behind the cockpit...and could see everything the pilots were doing). Crazy!

We took a ferry from Anguilla to St. Maarten, and stayed on the Dutch side. The only thing cool about our hotel was that planes landed right above it. See below. We took a cab to the French side of the island, and spent a full day at "Orient Beach." In my opinion, the French side is much nicer than the Dutch side.

We took an hour long ferry ride over to St. Barths from St. Maarten...and met a very nice man from Charleston, South Carolina, who welcomed us into his private Villa. See pics below.

We also had lunch at the Eden Rock Resort (pictured below).
St. Barths (or some say St. Barts) ~ is amazing!

My Mom and Madi came to visit in St. Kitts! It was so good to have them here!! We accomplished a lot in just 3 and 1/2 days. We hung at the beach, went out for dinner, saw wild monkeys and pigs, snorkeled, hiked, took a ferry to Nevis, saw the Fireman show at Shiggidy Shack, and did an ATV tour. It was a GREAT four days! I hope they come back soon!

Cricket Match

Friday was a National Holiday for St. Kitts...and no, not because it was the 4th of July for America...but rather because the West Indian Cricket Team was in St. Kitts to play Australia in a two-game tournament. A game, or match as they say, lasts ALL DAY (50 overs). But since it is such a big part of the culture here in the islands, Luke and I bought tickets and went to the match to experience it first hand. It was an awesome day...except for the fact the West Indies lost by one run (heartbreaker!) to Australia - the number 1 team in the world right now. Anyhow, see our pics from the match below:

And then we went to see some fireworks that night at Shiggidy Shack. Now those were for the Americans "4th of July" celebration!

"Sex and The City" movie viewing party

Salisha & Kim decided to throw a "Sex and The City" party for the ladies of St. Kitts, last Sunday afternoon. They even got a bootleg copy of the actual movie (which, obviously, has not come out here yet). The backyard was decorated with Chinese lanterns (because Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha always met for Chinese food), and we drank Cosmos & Martinis! They even set a red carpet for everyone's arrival...and had a Bouncer at the door, with a clip board to make sure you were "on the list."

We were supposed to dress as one of the four characters in the show...so I did my best imitation of Carrie Bradshaw. Given the fact there is no shopping here, I had to use whatever I had in my apartment...so I threw on a dress, some stilettos, one of Luke's hats (I remember Carrie sometimes wore random "avaunt guard" hats), and made myself (out of construction paper & a coat hanger) an oversize fabric flower. Just like she wears in the movie. :)

Four boys decided to crash the party (Luke, Martin, Roger & Fitz)...dressed like women in all of our dresses, with all of our jewelry on! It was hilarious, and a total surprise!
